As of January 1, 2018, the Countryside Business Association (CBA) is now the Countryside Chamber of Commerce (CCC). Please note our new logo, web address, and email.
The decision to “rebrand” from the CBA to the new CCC stemmed from our desire to continually evolve and improve to provide our members with more meaningful benefits and support. Our board of directors, along with our executive director, have been working on a strategic plan to assess the organization’s past, present and future, and to ensure all of our members realize the value and benefit of membership. These changes are only the beginning. It is our intention to always be a valuable asset to our members, a trusted resource for our members and local consumers, and to support Countryside businesses and the community so all may continue to grow and prosper.
Read on for a summary of what changes are in place or soon to come!
Not just a name change – it is a long-term commitment to provide more meaningful support, opportunities, and resources to our members. To clearly define our mission as an organization that connects businesses with the community to encourage loyalty and investment in our business districts and neighborhoods.
As of January 1, 2018, we changed from a tiered membership structure to a universal membership fee of $200 if your business is located in Countryside ($250 for businesses located outside of Countryside). This decision was based on several factors: member feedback, recent legislation that has increased many businesses’ labor costs, and our desire to grow membership. Rest assured, membership benefits will not be compromised. We want all of our businesses to receive the same benefits, regardless of size or number of employees.
We are creating a Membership Directory in both hard copy and digital copy. Each of our members will be listed in the directory! The digital version will be available on our website, and hard copies will be mailed to area households and businesses, as well as included in the New Resident Packets and New Business Packets.
Our new, modern, fresh website features an enhanced member directory, useful features, more exposure for all of our members, streamlined pages, and trusted resource for the community.
Advertising and Online Exposure
We applied for and were recently awarded a Google Grant. The Google Grant is awarded to qualifying non-profit organizations, and we are the only local chamber/business association to receive this exciting and valuable grant. The Google Ad Grant provides free Google AdWords advertising—$10,000 per month— on Google search result pages.
What does this mean for you? It means that our members will directly benefit from our advertising campaigns! We are working with a third-party AdWords management firm to ensure you, our members, receive the most exposure by strategically and thoughtfully choosing key words and phrases to drive the most traffic to specific pages on our website. As a grant recipient, we have the distinct advantage of free targeted advertising that others pay a great deal for.
Our members are why the CBA – soon to be Countryside Chamber — exists, so our ad campaigns will be member-focused. We will also be receiving analytics, so we can share this information with our members to substantiate the value with quantitative results.
Enhanced Member Onboarding Program
It is important for all members (current and new) to understand the breadth of their membership benefits, to be fully oriented to the organization, and feel comfortable with their investment. As such, we are in the process of forming a membership committee that will be solely focused on implementing enhanced onboarding efforts.
